BLACKFACE HAS NO PLACE...OR DOES IT?!

French Vogue are known and widely respected for their controversy, so for their Supermodel Issue they thought it was a radical and inspired idea to paint Dutch model Lara Stone "BLACK"
Yeah that's right black!!

Now, this is where I get severely confused; this is supposed to be their "Supermodel" issue where and I quote "We praise Lara Stone for her radical break with the wave of anorexic models" she represents"  Although she is a size 4 (hmmmm) she has them curves which I guess gives them the right to paint her black!! Naah WRONG WORNG WRONG!!  If that is the case why isn't one single black model featured in the issue?!?!  I'll tell ya why; the fact of the matter is magazines thrive on sales and the more sales and publicity the better!!
But the issue still continues...what gives them the right to use our blackness in this way to cause controversy?!  The black race has been on this earth since time began and to go through all of the atrocities and overcome them how dare they do this!!  It's SO insulting and just un-called for!!

On the other hand why can't we look at this a just Art?!  I mean after all it's only a picture in a magazine?  Why can't we look at it as an expression of creativity without getting in a huff, why make it so personal, why let it get under our skins...?

I got to go now peeps, but by all means leave your views!!
TTYL XOXO
