Sharp Cuts & Black & White

Ever heard of the long dark summer?   If you haven't you soon will.  Amungust all the high shine and color was flashes of black 'n' white.  Gisella had very sexy flowing monocrome gowns and Stella McCartney had very hot black cocktail numbers, as did Vera Wang and Oscar De La Renta.  The guys on the high street them a run for their money with Warehouse, River Island giving very high quality pieces.  If you want to be in contrast with the sun go black 'n' white.

The summer is sharp and sexy!  The 'cut' is every where, not in the usual way though.  Fabrics were cut left, right, centre, diagnal, up, down and any other way you could think of.  However they were constructed in a very chic and shophisticated manner.  Create an cool, 'cutting' edge to the summer months!

DRESSES TO DIE FOR

The color dress is soo a hot look for the summer.  The high street saw an amazing collection for day and night, taking inspiration from the catwalks.  Designers such as Julan, Malene Bigerand Calvin Klien gave us a burst of color, with neon pinks and yellows to bright electric blues.  There's no doubt that you wont brighten up any party long after the sun sets...

How does your garden grow?  In the shape of a bang on trend.  The summer always goes back to the classic floral print, but their is a big change.  The change is sharp but very very sweet.  Designers high and low cut  their floral prints in very modern geometrical shapes.

Bright Colors

Wake up your senses this summer  The catwalk was alight with stunning array's of color.  But it wasn't the usual splashes, designer's thought about how to wear it.  From candy tones to eye popping neon's.  On the catwalk some chose to mix and match pink and red with nude (Richard Nicoll) others chose to whipped rainbow colors together (Josh Goot, Basso&Brooke).  Elsewhere Dries Van Noten took on assault on our optics!  From clashing orange and purple.  Other hot pieces came from Gisella, Julans, Jewl Clothing, Blanchel, Stephen Burrows and Malene Birger.

The high st also gave amazing stand out looks!  Sexy new shapes and shades were found at River Island, Warehouse, Topshop and New Look had a very fab collection.

"THE SUMMER ISSUE"

It's nearly hear...That's right summer time is on its way and that means shopping, partying, lounging in the sun, bbq's, shopping, holidays, dancing and erm shopping!!
This seasons fashion is the most diverse and creative yet.  With a mix of floral, animal and optical prints, exotic skins, neutral shades and the much loved 1980's (yeah it's back..again).  Although these trends are nothing we haven't seen before they have all been re-worked for 2009.  Now I know we keep hearing these words credit crunch (blah, blah, blah) but we have got to be cautious about the purchases we make, gone are the days of splashing out on on pieces were never going to wear.  Designer's from high end to high st. that can be worn long after 2009 (but were still going to buy new stuff in 2010)

So without further ado lets get stuck into the summer trends: ANIMAL PRINTS, FLORAL, DIVINE DRESSES, JUMPSUITS, STATEMENT JACKETS AND BRIGHT COLORS....
